Team building exercises don’t have to consist of the same old activities, like trust falls or having a team member describe a picture that everyone else must draw. You know, the ones that we all have been doing since elementary school.  Instead of going with the typical exercises that are performed on a rainy day in the conference room, take two minutes to read this … Who knows, it may even spark a creative idea of your own!

Depending on your budget, below are eight ideas for team building outings that your employees will love.

Join a race together.

There are various races happening throughout the year. Choose a cause that you would like to support and join.  Have super athletes on your team? Spark some friendly competition.  Don’t have avid runners on your team?  Plenty of teams walk and talk while participating.  A few races that are coming up in Buffalo are The Bunny Hop, UB Run for Smiles, and JP Morgan Corporate Challenge.  You can view a full list of upcoming races at Buffalo Runners Calendar 2018.

Minute to win it.

If you have ever had the opportunity to watch the TV show Minute to Win It on NBC, the concept is similar.  Need some ideas for the games?  Take a look at this list by clicking this link: Easy Event Ideas

Volunteer together.

There are plenty of local organizations that look for volunteers and allow for teams to volunteer together.  A few that come to mind are Diamonds in the Ruff where you can play with and walk dogs that are waiting for their furever family and the Buffalo City Mission where you can serve a hot meal to those in need.

Complete an escape room.

Do you have a team that is great at solving problems?  Sign up for a challenge with one of the many Escape Rooms in the area.  A few that come to mind Lock & Key Escape Room and Escape Room Buffalo.

Kayaking on the harbor.

If you are looking for some adventure, why not rent some Kayaks and explore the Buffalo waterfront together as a team.  You can view further information at Buffalo Harbor Kayak.

Shakespeare in the park.

Warm weather is right around the corner, which means going to view a production, free of cost, at Delaware Park is right around the corner.  Make it a team event!  Check out the Shakespeare in Delaware Park events page and get planning.

Bubble Soccer at Riverworks.

Looking to participate in a friendly, fun, competitive game?  Gearing up in a big bubble and hitting the soccer field might be an interesting idea for you to look into.  Check it out at Buffalo Bubble Soccer .
